Your online air travel desk
The Air Desk
A desk in an airport exists for one reason: someone needs an answer and they need it now. This section works the same way, minus the queue.
Why the site exists
Air travel is full of small procedural questions that nobody explains in one place. Airlines publish rules in legal language, airports publish maps that assume you already know the terminal, and forum answers are usually three years out of date. We write the in-between version: what normally happens, what varies, and what to check before you rely on it.
Nothing here is a booking service. AirServiceOnline is an information desk, so the guides stay focused on planning and practical decisions rather than selling you a fare.
How travellers use it
Most people arrive with a specific question, read one guide, then follow a related link to the next thing they had not thought about. That is the intended path. Start with the question you have, and let the related guides fill in the gaps.
- How early should I arrive at the airport?
- What can I take in my carry-on?
- How much time do I need for a connection?
- Can I leave the airport during a layover?
- How do I get from the airport to the city?
- What should I know before a long flight?
Before you leave home
Check-in windows, documents, baggage limits and the small preparation steps that stop airport stress before it starts.
Inside the airport
Where security sits, how long the walk to a far gate really takes, and how transfers work when you change terminals.
Between two flights
Whether your layover is long enough to leave, what happens to checked bags, and how to spend the wait sensibly.
On arrival
Immigration flow, trains and taxis into the centre, and the first hour of a trip in a city you do not know yet.
